About Us

Our Mission

Saksham Charitable Trust was founded on 14 January 2021 and registered on 15 March 2021 under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882, at Prayagraj (Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh. The Trust's name — Saksham, meaning "capable" — reflects its belief that every individual, given the right support, has the capability to build a better life for themselves and their community.

The Trust works across education, housing, food and water security, and skill development, focused on families who would otherwise struggle to access these basics. Its operations cover Prayagraj and extend to Agra, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, and Varanasi districts of Uttar Pradesh.

  • Education — school supplies, fee support, scholarships, competitions, libraries, and coaching for meritorious students from low-income families.
  • Housing — helping economically weaker families access government and institutional schemes to build their own homes.
  • Food, Water & Self-Reliance — skill-building so families become self-sufficient, along with support for safe drinking water access.
  • Women's Empowerment & Skill Development — vocational training programs, including a skill development project run during the COVID-19 pandemic.

What We Do

Our Programs

Education Support

Study material, fee assistance, scholarships, medals and certificates for meritorious students, career guidance, and coaching support for children from low-income families across our operational districts.

Housing Assistance

Connecting economically weaker and disabled individuals with government schemes, insurance corporations, and other sources of support to help them build homes of their own.

Skill & Livelihood Training

Vocational training that helps people — especially women — become self-reliant. The Trust ran a skill development project during the COVID-19 pandemic and has partnered with organisations including SBI Foundation on livelihood initiatives.

Community Outreach

Working across Prayagraj, Agra, Lucknow, Rae Bareli, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, and Varanasi on health & family welfare, care for the elderly and differently abled, environment, and community welfare initiatives.

Medical Assistance

Treatment camps and subsidised care for conditions such as cataracts, cancer, and leprosy, along with support towards allopathic, Ayurvedic, and homeopathic treatment for families who cannot otherwise afford it.

Marriage Assistance

Support for economically weaker families around marriage — including contact camps, financial help for daughters' weddings, and encouraging simple, low-cost ceremonies to ease the burden on poor households.

Calamity Relief

Providing immediate, practical assistance to families affected by natural disasters and other sudden physical or financial hardship, in coordination with government and community support wherever possible.

Goshala (Cow Shelter)

Establishing and running a goshala for the care, protection, and conservation of cows, and promoting the wider benefits of cow-based welfare initiatives.
